I am glad to say I can agree wholeheartedly with Chuck Hunt (tesla!c-hunt) about the price/quality ratio of BV Private Reserve versus some of the '81 Bordeaux. But please, please do not overlook the fabulous '81 Gruaud Larose! It is a wine to rival all and best some of the First Growths like Lafite, Mouton that go for 3 to 4 times its humble $14-$18 price range. Big, rich and built to last, the '81 Gruaud Larose is my favorite of the '81 Bordeaux, though its not for current drinking. Here's one to buy and drink 10, 15, 20 and 25 years from now. If I am any judge of Cabernets, this one is better, alas, then anything produced in this country in the last 15 years. Buy now, before the collectors have grabbed it all. Already the price has gone to $21 in this sky-high market - Columbus may have the cheapest rents in the country, but you can go broke stocking your celler. Jim cbosgd!jcg
