Greetings - I just got back from a weekend in Napa and would like to pass on a new item for your consideration. This being summertime, people may be looking for something a little lighter to drink w/their Mesquite wood bbq'd chicken and fish, allow me to suggest the following: Peju Province, 1983 Sauvignon Blanc ($7 at the winery, $5.60 at TJ's) This is one of the first releases from Peju Province, a new addition to the rows of wineries along Napa's highway 29. The other two releases are a Chardonnay and a Cabernet, neither of which is especially noteworthy. But the S. Blanc is truly delightful. It has a clear, light straw color and a nose with just a trace of grass. The wine has a crisp, clean taste w/out the aggressive nature of some S. Blancs. Recommended. Cheers...
