[net.wines] Stonyridge winery, RIP

wct@mordor.UUCP (Bill Thompson) (09/25/85)

From the Newsletter of the "Friends of the Vineyards"

"Friends of the Vineyards watched with much sadness the auction of the last
the Stony Ridge Winery equipment. We talked with old friends who also had
gathered to watch the final curtain fall on the brave little winery that
struggled so valiantly against the big computer giant--and lost. We wonder
how in all honesty Computerland can launch a "campaign against world hunger"
while deliberately allowing this lovely vineyard to die from lack of care
and water. We're sending a plea out to our 1000 members to put out "feelers"
for someone who might want to buy this historic 600 acre vineyard. Call
Computerland."

For those outside the Livermore valley--another vineyard bites the dust--
Computerland has plans for an industrial park...
