I also love Sauvignon Blanc, White Bordeaux, and the like. May I suggest in the "economical yet excellent" category: 1984 Parducci (Mendocino) Sauvignon Blanc (~$5.50) +++ 198(anything) Konocti (Lake Co.) Sauvignon Blanc (~$5.00) ++++ 198(anything) Mondavi Fume Blanc (~$7.00) ++++ (the inventor of "Fume Blanc") 1983 Clos du Val Semillon ($7.00) ++++ (well worth the extra $) 1983 Karly (Amador Co.) Fume Blanc ($7.00) +++ 198(anything) Chevalier De Vedrines (Bord) Sauvignon Blanc Sec ($3.50) +++ Also, many good buys are available from the Loire in the $5-$7 range from Sancerre or Pully Fume, but styles vary and distribution of particular growers is likely to be limited. Buy a jug and try it that night; if you like it, go back for as much as you'll use in the coming year: there won't be any more next month! Cheers! =Charles Hunt=
