I have been "consuming" several different American Gewurztraminers and have been satisfied with very few so far. By far the best was a late harvest from "Chateau Ste. Michelle" but it was a late 70's vintage and is difficult to get currently. I am currently trying a more recent vintage from Chateau Ste. Michelle. Does anyone have any suggestions for American Gewurztraminers? Jerry Heuring

My favorite is Navarro; others include Husch and Edmeades. Navarro also bottles a nonalcoholic Gewurtz grape juice - very sweet. Also try the Navarro Sauvignon Blanc - it is similar to the Gewurtz but much drier.

It has been pretty consistenly excellent over the four to five years I've been drinking it (not the same, but always good). Navarro is very good, too. Ken Arnold
