I heard a rumor that Adam Osborne is planning to release a
supply of PC-compatible portables (like the new COMPAQ) into
the market pretty soon. This could be no more than a rumor,
but I did hear it from a Computerland salesman who had no
apparent advantage to gain by telling me this, and he might
be in a position to hear more reliable gossip.

And what, if anything, does Harris Corp. have to do with the new Osborne release? I heard they had entered into a marketing agreement.

If Osborne releases a PC (ibm, that is) compatable computer, I hope that he uses good, reliable drives this time, and invests more in the hard ware than the software. The trick is not in producing an inexpensive (cheap) portable, but in producing a portable which the average executive/ engineer is proud to own and use, and which is very reliable (like HP's calculators).
