INDUSTRY GIANTS PREVIEW OWN LOCAL-AREA NETWORKS,
Computerworld, 10/31, p.1. AT&T Western
Electric will begin marketing a local area
network developed by AT&T Bell Laboratories next
January, but not to end users, AT&T's Charles
Brown said last week in Geneva. Instead,
AT&T-WE will sell the network to telephone
operating companies, which will then market it
to end users. The LAN reportedly will be called
"3Bnet."
