I have been reading some of the recent "rumors" about the "AT&T micros" with great amusement. What a bunch of misinformation there is out there. I am working with several of these micros BUT I don't believe that we are allowed to release such information in a public forum. Obviously, someone has been leaking information to people outside the AT&T companies. Now that AT&T Information Systems (in whose Laboratories I work) and AT&T Western Electric and even AT&T Bell Laboratories are in the public marketplace, we are no different than IBM. We need to maintain our proprietary information so that we can sell our products in a competitive manner. I don't want to have the rug pulled out from under the products I am working on because some people give out information illegally. I would urge all people in the AT&T system to avoid the temptation to reply to these provocative questions in net.rumor. All discussion should be limited to the att.all newsgroups created by Mark Horton -- or even narrower bandwidth groups like btl, abi .... The Unix(TM) operating system software is not the only thing that can't be shared with unauthorized people. -- -=> Avi E.
