> They even mention the word "UNIX"(tm) on television!!! It's AT&T Bell Laboratories. AT&T can say UN*X until the cows come home. > Do they have System V to run on it? Or do you run Venix > or Xenix on it? Or does this just mean that you can hook the PC as a > semi-silly terminal on one of their 3B series? If its AT&T's computer, you can bet it's System V. Besides, even the *real* IBM/PC-XT can run UN*X. I think the IBM version a System V port. They were demoing them at Usenix. It wasn't any worse than some other products I saw there -- or the slowest either. -- Dave Cohrs @ wisconsin ...!{allegra,heurikon,ihnp4,seismo,ucbvax,uwm-evax}!uwvax!dave dave@wisc-rsch.arpa

1) No, the AT&T PC doesn't run UNIX (yet). It runs MS-DOS (surprise, surprise). 2) PC/IX is a System III port. Guy Harris {seismo,ihnp4,allegra}!rlgvax!guy

The IBM version called hte Personal Computer Interactive Executive is IS/3. IS/3 is a bastardized System III. -Ron
