[net.rumor] Kodak v. Poloroid

nelson@dec-bufalo.UUCP (01/16/86)

This is a followup to my own article, in which I inquire about an alleged
rumor that Kodak lost a lawsuit against Poloroid for violating a patent of
Poloroid's.

The rumor is fact: Kodak did indeed lose the lawsuit, and is giving
consumers who own the now-obsolete "Trimprint" cameras three choices:

	1.  a $50 coupon good for any Kodak products;
	2. one share of Kodak common stock (worth about $48); or
	3. a Kodak Tele Challenger disk camera and film (worth about $45).

All options are available only by contacting Kodak at 1-800-792-3000, and
you must trade in your camera.

More information can be found in the _Wall Street Journal_, dated 8-Jan-86
(or was that 9-Jan-86?) on page 19. The article is entitled: "Kodak
Owners Advised: 'Take the Rebate and Run'".

Many thanks to those of you who replied to me directly, and to those of
you who posted a followup message.
