>> >> I have Anita O'Day singing it on her album "Angel Eyes" recorded >> direct-to-disc in Tokyo in 1978 on Lobster Records. It has been >> reissued in the USA on Anita's EMILY records, under the same title. >> The above is from a discussion of a song, but I'm interested in the reference to "Lobster Records" and "Direct-to-disc". I've been collecting direct-to-disc (DTD) records since Sheffield came out with their first Lincoln Mayorga discs. I haven't bought EVERYTHING, but have bought a good many. I have never heard of "Lobster Records" before, though. I am assuming that this is a Japanese audiophile record house -- is this correct? I have some Japanese-made DTD albums -- there are a couple well-known ones on RCA Japan and some other lables, but these all date from some time in the past. Are there any Japanses DTD records being produced NOW, or have they all gone to digital? Anybody have any reference that would provide a complete listing of Japanese-made DTD audiophile records?
