what is a rumor? that seems to be an important question confronting us in this newsgroup. we seem to be reaching a spiritual crisis in our purpose. will life consist of nothing but somnambulant wanderings through the hackings of ignorant journalists? is the only way to find the truth through facts and knowledge? do your glasses fog when it's cold outside and warm inside? or is it the other way around? seriously, is it the other way around? i once heard a wise man say that he heard a wise man say that when he was one and twenty he heard a wise man say give crowns and pounds and guineas but not your heart away give pearls away and rubies but keep your fancy free. but he was one and twenty you see no use to talk to he. so out of a stem that scored the hand he wrung it in a weary land. is it clear now. you who read these little letters of the land can sand away tomorrow for free. you dont think so. just because its a rumor? why do read this newsgroup then. feh. feh. And now for the obligatory rumor: I heard a rumor that STAR WARS is S RAW RATS spelled backwards. Can anyone confirm this? ucbvax!brahms!weemba Matthew P Wiener/UCB Math Dept/Berkeley CA 94720
