Congrats to Mike Knudsen (ihnss!knudsen) for the only correct
answer I have received...  A ball is not fair until

	1) it is touched by a fielder in fair territory
		or
	2) it crosses the basepath in fair territory (i.e.
	   between the foul lines.

The ball mentioned did neither, thus, when it left the field of play,
it was a foul ball.

Here's another not-too-difficult one (I think):

	There are eight (8) ways that a batter can
	reach first base.  Can you name them all ?
	(Just a hint: a base on balls and an intentional
	walk are not considered two different ways)
