How did a pitcher win a game without pitching the ball? Everyone should have gotten this one, and a number did. Top of the ninth. Team batting ahead. Two outs. Runner on first. New pitcher came in and picked the runner off first. His team came to bat and scored enough runs to win. How did a runner steal home without knowing it? Bases loaded. Count on batter 3 and anything. Catcher and batter both thought it was ball four. Runner on third trotted home. Umpire finally spoke up -- STRIKE! (Apparently the ump insisted he lost his voice momentarily because of a cold. Mustn't have been a good call anyway.) How did a shortstop make an unassisted double play without touching the ball? With runners on first and second a ground ball was hit to short. The runner from second collided with the shortstop before he fielded the ball. He's out! The runner from first passes the two close enough behind to get called out too. DP shortstop. All three have happened at least once to my knowledge. Dave Honorable mention to T O'C for getting 2 3/4 correct.
