Bucky Dent proved last year that you don't need great numbers to be on the All-Star team. As a matter of fact, he wasn't even starting for the Yankees when he got voted into the All-Star Squad. It should be obvious by now that All-Star balloting is nothing more than a popularity contest and that the quality of baseball played at these All-Star games is at best marginal. Since it is merely an exhibition game, who cares if Fernado is in or not. And I don't see how you NL fans can use these meaningless games as the proof of NL superiority.
