[net.sport.baseball] Combined No-Hitter

allaby@wivax.UUCP (08/14/83)

During the mid 70's, didn't Vida Blue, Darryll Knowles and John "Blue Moon"
Odom of the Oakland A's combine for a no-hitter? I'm not to sure I have the
names right, but I know it was done. Any help out there!

I have been getting some mail regarding my question of the combined no-hitter.
You are missing the main point of the question: which pitchers combined for
a no-hitter and LOST the game? Answer by the end of the week 'till then
keep those guesses coming.

That combined no-hitter that John (Blue Moon) Odom was a part of was thrown
by the White Sox. The Starting pitcher for the Sox was wild and walked about
six batters through six innings so Chuck Tanner brought in Odom who walked
a couple but didn't give up any hits. Does anyone remember the details any
better than this?
