Hey Russ - you do not cry alone. We here in Atlanta are wondering what does it take to win also!! Have you heard the stories concerning the jinx WE have as a result of the Curse of Chief Noc-a-homa's teepee??? It's an interesting story. I personally feel the lost last weekend in LA really did a lot of damage to the team's morale. That's the game where we led 6-2 going into the bottom of the 9th...and lost 7-6 on a squeeze bunt with 2 outs!!! It really had a lot of folks upset. And of course you know that Joe Torre was a little scrambled also. Seems he called for a relief pitcher who was not ready to pitch. The pitcher had warmed up earlier but then sat down for the last couple of innings. In spite of our (mis)fortunes, I'm hereby proclaiming Dale Murphy as repeat NL MVP. Hope he does get it, but I feel that if the Braves don't win the division it may go to Andre' Dawson, and that ain't a bad decision either. Right now the Braves are saying "Hey, last year we were three games out with 10 games left, and we won it. We can do it again." Fans, for some reason, are not so ready to belive it. In my humble opinion, I would have to nominate Lasorda as Manager of the Year, for the work he's done psyching that no-defense team (and the Braves) into a four game lead. I guess the old sportwriters are right...pitching is 90% cause the Dodgers do have that, but nothing else!! DENNIS...a die-hard (and dying) Braves fan!!!! Glory! Glory Georgia!!!!Who Needs Herschell??!??!?
