[net.sport.baseball] Baseball article in Atlantic

     I don't follow baseball, but I really enjoyed an article in the
September '83 issue of "Atlantic Monthly": "An Eye on the Records" by
Michael Lenehan.  It concerns Bill James, author of "The Bill James
Baseball Abstract" and apparent dean of the "sabermetricians", the
Society for American Baseball Research.  His way of carefully looking
at the statistics to verify or disprove the folk wisdom about baseball
would do any economist or social scientist proud.
