[net.sport.baseball] Cosell, Musburger,predictions

The Mouth is sometimes interesting. However, he doesn't stop when he
ceases to be so. For example, he may state some interesting fact about
some player which makes that individual almost saintly because of the
words used. That would be OK except that he does this for EVERY player.

I find that Earl Weaver spends a significant amount of time correcting
Howard's impressions. It also seems to me that Howard is starting to
let Earl do more talking and just agreeing with Earl more often.
If the trend continues, Howard will be tolerable. Then again, no
man can know when Howard will be tolerable just as no man can know
when the Coming of the Lord is to happen.

As far as Brent is concerned, at least he gives scores. He also appears
less than Howard, so the dosage is less concentrated.

Hey Andy, the title of your article mentioned your predictions. Well...?

First off, the most enjoyable way to watch football or baseball is
with the TV on and the sound turned down, and tune in any radio
broadcast of the game you are viewing. Listening to Frank Buck
and Hank Stram on WBBM-AM (780) is the 'only' way to watch a
Monday nite football game. NewsRadio 78 is the one for all Bears
games as well. Joe McConnell is at his best describing a football
game, where he makes almost any play sound exciting.

I enjoy listening to Frank Gifford, but he's not worth having to
put up with Howard and Daffy Don. Someone on the net mentioned
that Earl Weaver seemed to be able to predict the upcoming play.
The insight Hank Stram displays on Monday nites is uncanny, but
perhaps it's easier to 'predict' an event when a certain
offensive or defensive formation is used.

One save for Al Holland, one win and one save to go!!
