[net.sport.baseball] Hall-of-Famers

pellegri@ittral.UUCP (Dan Pellegrino) (01/12/84)

WE WANT PHIL RIZZUTO! WE WANT PHIL RIZZUTO! Compare his career stats with
those of Aparacio (nothing against Luis, he is certainly deserving) and just
about any other shortstop that has been inducted into the Hall. Could it be
that the Baseball Writer's Association of America has never really objectively
considered Rizzuto's playing career. Perhaps some personal feelings related
to Phil's broadcasting/commercial/etc. carrer have interfered. Now its up to
the Old Timer's Commitee. Let's have some justice.

Hear, hear! I vote for Phil Rizzuto, and for Pee Wee Reese, too.
We have to forgive most of Phil's meanderings as an "announcer" for
Yankee games over NY-WPIX and Sports Channel, though, particularly his
Pizano (sic?) Birthday/Anniversary spy ring.
