The first sign of spring appeared Sunday, as there was an ad
in the Chic. Sun-Times for advance Chicago Cub ticket sales!!
Which brings me to one of my favorite subjects, baseball trivia.
While we`re waiting for the answers to the other quiz, try
these on for size.

1.  Who did Lou Gehrig replace to begin his iron man streak,
    and who replaced him to end his streak?

2.  Name the pitcher who WON the 1951 N.L. playoffs.
    Who was on deck when the game was won?

3.  Who did Roger Maris hit homer #61 off of in 1961?

4.  In the famous infield Tinker to Evers to Chance, who
    was the 3rd baseman?

5.  Who was the batter that broke Don Drysdale`s scoreless
    inning streak?

6.  What were the Yankees originally called?  How about
    the Brooklyn Dodgers (circa 1900)?  The Astros?
    The Cubs?

7.  Who holds the record for most granslams in a game?

8.  What was the longest baseball game(Majors), and who won it?
    How many pitchers did each team lose?

9.  And one for us Cub fanatics - Who did Ernie Banks
    hit his 500th homer off of?

In response to this trivia quiz, I'll try a few answers.

The Brooklyn Dodgers were once called the Bridegrooms, because so many
of their players were getting married at once.  Actually, they started
life out as the Trolley Dodgers, a reference to the dominant means of 
getting around that town prior to General Motors.

The Astros used to be the Colt 45s.
