Well, the cubbies and the metsies are battling for second place right now (10-7) behind the NEW phillies. Hey cubbers, what should we do to get those upstarts out of first so we can battle in out for the top spot? Of course, the Mets have a chance today to jump to first against the phils. I too would like to know just what the heck those tigers were eating all summer. I see the great KONG is still tipping them over the fence for the West Coast fans. I'll never understand why he couldn't even tip his hat here in N. Y. Well, such is baseball. Oh well, the old rust-head (Staub) is still getting singles when we need them. On the other hand, what is a single for Rusty, would be a triple for anyone else. It takes him about two and a half hours to get to first. I still like him though. It looks like a South American revolution is warming up over in the Yankee clubhouse again. Now Winfield is on Von Steinbrenner's case. Remember, Yogi will be gone before the 4th of July (my prediction). I think Bob Ueker(sp) is avialable for the Yanks. He would sure be fun to watch manage.
