Once again Chub Feeney gives a slap on the wrist to Mario Soto. After his 2nd altercation in a month, he gets a 5 game suspension and a fine which is peanuts compared to what he`s making. What good is a 5 game suspension? First, as a pitcher, he`ll probably miss 1 start, tops. But it`s not really fair to penalize him for being a pitcher. However, it IS fair to hand out a longer suspension and a stiffer fine for being invloved in another fight. Had not Cub coach Don Zimmer stopped Soto in fight 1, Mario would`ve went at it with an ump, which most likely would`ve cost him the season. Too bad the N.L. front office didn`t have the guts to get tough. What happens if he gets into another fight this season? Will it be another "slap on the wrist"? Hey Mario, a heck of a role model you`re becoming.
