<Can we trade the line-eater for a bug to be named later?>

Yessiree, given the opportunity, someone will mess up the works everytime.
Look at how the Cubs just scr*wed the Tribe! If Bowie Kuhn was any kind
of commissioner (which he isn't and proved it), he would void the trade in
the best interest of baseball (like he did to Charlie O. in the 70's). This
thing of not putting the players on waivers properly is a bunch of horse-
feathers! Dallas Green knew what he was doing. Under the waivers rule, any
team can make a bid for a player, which, essentially, locks a player from being
traded. Not touching a player on waivers during a trade is a curtesy. I hope
the NL East (esp. the Mets and Phils), start grabbing at the waivers of any
players that have to be substituted to force Chicago to move the original
players named.

Speaking of the Cubs, they couldn't win one from Philly in a recent series, but
the Mets took 2 of 3!!! First place again (and we hope to stay).

The Yankees need an owner who can leave the basball stuff to someone who knows
what they are doing. Look at what Detroit and the Mets did. Detroit left it
in the hands of the GM and Sparky. For the Mets, Frank Cashan, formerly with
Baltimore, runs the club. The exception, Dallas Green will destroy the Cubs.

PROGNOSTICATION: The Braves will drop, at least, two of the three against LA.

In the recent issue of Sports Illustrated (I subscribe), Hubbie Brooks, the
Mets 3rd baseman, was named player of the week. LETS GO METS!

Still hating the Braves in Athens, Ga:
