The all-star game as it is is stupid and shouldn't be played anyway. Who really cares? The players certainly don't care if they win or lose even though they might say they do. It's just a big ego thing to be selected. A true all-star game contest should be played at the end of the season after a player has proven that he can perform over 162 games. Then it should be a best of 7 or 11 series where starting pitchers can go more than 3 innings. One game in the middle of the year doesn't prove anything.

So I guess you think that pro football players give a hoot about the Pro Bowl. You know the only reason they do it is for the money (at least I think they get paid). In fact, isn't football the only sport that has their all-star game after the season? It seems that football has the wrong idea and baseball, hockey, and basketball have the right idea. Re- why the football guys do it: Money A paid trip to Hawaii with the family. One reason for not doing it: Possibility of injury -- The Ice Floe of Larry Bickford {ihnp4,allegra,ucbvax}!{amd70,decwrl,sun}!qubix!lab "When the English language gets in my way, I walk over it." - Billy Sunday
