On July 9, 1970 Dalton Jones hit a grand slam against the Red Sox
but was credited with only a single because he passed Don Wert on
the basepath.

Dalton Jones wasn't the only one. On July 4, 1976 (the Bicentennial!),
Tim McCarver also hit an apparent grand slam, passed a runner on the
basepaths, and was credited with a single and three runs batted in.

And the most famous grand slam single of all: Joe Adcock vs. Harvey
Haddox in the "greatest game ever pitched": 12 perfect innings, losing
in the 13th.
