OKAY!!! I have seen some comments about Pascual Perez here that kind of bother me. He has been called: GARBAGE dirty a less than optimum citizen. Would any of you folks out there care to explain to the rest of us just what you meant by these accusations? Have any good FACTS to base this on, or are you just lumping him in with the other hot-headed Dominicans (Soto, Anduhar-sp?). Are the Padres your home team, or do you just hate the Braves? Let's hear from you. Russ Pierce Denver, CO

<> I was the person who called Perez "dirty". I will admit that it is not based on facts sitting here in front of me, but only on perceptions from watching TV. Over the last couple of years, it seems that whenever I have watched Perez pitch on the game of the week, he is involved in hitting batters or just missing them only because the batters were lucky. He has also been shown on the local news shows when they highlight (unfortunately) beanball wars. This may all be unfair. It just seems that Perez gets an inordinate amount of media coverage concerning beanballs when compared to the other pitchers in the big leagues. I will give him credit that atleast he didn't go for Wiggins head. In response to your other questions, no, I do not hate the Braves nor do I feel like I am classifying him because of his ethnic background. I do, however, wish the Braves all the lousy luck in the world during their weekend series against the Cubs. I going to the "friendly confines" on Sunday and guess who I get to see. That's right. Mr. Perez himself. Maybe it will change my mind. As I said, these are only perceptions and perceptions can be changed rather easily.
