[net.sport.baseball] Ramblings About Rose

[10,000 Beavers Can't Be Wrong!]

Here is my 2 cents about the Rose Manager Situation,

First I am glad to see Pete Rose get a break. All he was here in Montreal was
window dressing, he played rarely in the past few weeks and he was getting paid
a bit too much to be a good pinch hitter. I wish him good luck in his new
endevours (sp?).

Now as for the Expos: their management has proven (YET AGAIN) their absolute
ineptitude when it comes to making a pennant contender. They trade away
Al Oliver whose fielding was suspect but who could HIT with power from the
left side of the plate. They replace him with Terry Francona, who has
as much luck with injuries as Joe Bfspikt(sp)(remember in L'il Abner).
That means they put Rose in at first, fine, the Expos start losing, OK
put Mike Stenhouse there, the Expos still lose. The answer 'get a left
handed power hitter to play first base', enter Dan Driessen. Nice
ain't it?? The Expos could have kept Oliver and MAYBE they might have
won a few more games this year. As it stands now, the players they got for
Al Oliver (Magafigan and Breining) have been traded and injured. Thus the
Expos management is once again left with Egg on their faces. As for me
colour me a converted BLUE JAY fan......

why settle for the jays? go with a winner: dem tiges. if canadian
parochialism is a problem, just think of detroit as a suburb of windsor.
