In the draft held by clubs for unprotected players, the Mets lost
4, among them (the by-now well-known) Brian Giles, who might actually make
it in Milwaukee because of the Molitor injury situation. I still think
that Ron Gardenhire is trade bait for Frank Cashen (the Mets' G.M.) -- in
fact/rumor, the N.Y.Times (and, perhaps, other papers that I don't read)
says that Gardenhire may go to K.C. for Dane Iorg.
