Tickets for the black-tie banquet of the New York Chapter of the Baseball Writers Association of America are available, at least in limited numbers; price $50. The banquet is on Jan. 27, 1985 at the Sheraton Centre, New York City, a Sunday evening. Awards to be presented include Cy Young, MVP, and the New York chapter's own awards to K. Hernandez, P. Niekro, D. Mattingly, D. Gooden, Johnny Podres, J. Morris, Calvin Griffin (sic?), and Yogi. Also in attendance will be D. Johnson, G. Carter, J. Frey, Sparky Anderson, Mickey Mantle, and the commish.
