Can anyone tell me why Lou Whitaker gets so much support year after year in the Gold Glove ballotting? The guy DOESN'T have the best fielding percentage nor does he have the best numbers for double plays, put outs, or assists. Frank White and Jim Gantner all are more deserving of a Gol Glove than Sweet Lou. Personally, I think that the voters looked at Lou's team and his numbers on offense, and concluded that they wanted to honor him. It's a shame that the Gold Glove ballotting is supposed to ignore all of that sort of thing. Comments? Tim Newman
