Re: Babe Ruth's pitching career: From 1915 to 1917, Babe Ruth was a full-time pitcher with the Boston Red Sox. In 1918 and 1919, his pitching appearances were cut in half, but he also played a fair share as an outfielder. Between 1919 and 1920, he was traded to the Yankees. New York played him exclusively as a full-time outfielder, as he pitched in only 5 games in his 14 years with New York. After the Yankees got rid of him, he never pitched another major league game.
