[net.sport.baseball] Modern day Ironman

Cal Ripken has appeared in every innning of every
game the O's have played for the last two years. The
last time someone did that was back in 1941. He can put
up some numbers, too. Big shortstops seem to be quite
vogue. Yount, Trammel, and Ripken dwarf their
yesteryear counterparts. Humans just keep getting
          bigger.

P.S. Look out for the Pirates. They had the lowest ERA
in the majors ( 3.11 if memory serves) last year
and they lost only one pitcher (Tudor). The only
thing they needed was sock in their lineup. With
Hendrick, Lezcano, Kemp, Thompson and even
Madlock, their only question mark will be speed.
Jose DeLeon will get better and better. If you
don't know who he is, you will. I think he's
already one of the NL's top five hurlers. Even
though he was 7-13 last year, I think his ERA was
VERY low. In something like 14 of his outings, the
Bucs backed him up with 1 or less runs. Two games
in a row last year he took no hitters past seven
innings. He lost three or four games 1-0. BEWARE.

>Look out for the Pirates

As a Cubs fan, I do not fear the N.Y. Mets.

You speak the truth about the Pirates.

Yes, I am worried.
