 If the Mets (e.g.) bring Rusty Staub in to bat for Bruce Berenyi in the
 bottom of the seventh, and then bat around, will Staub bat again? If he
 does, then no pitcher will have been in the lineup during the Mets' at-
 bat in the seventh. This will have the effect of allowing the Mets to
 use a DH in the inning.

That's not necesarily true.  Johnson sometimes leaves him in if he's not
the lead runner.  Furthermore, I don't think Kranepool could catch Staub,
and Stationary objects don't move MUCH faster than Staub.  -:
