[net.sport.baseball] AL. EAST? HA HA!

wimp@sphinx.UChicago.UUCP (Jeff Haferman) (05/06/85)

Yes, I am a TWIN's fan, I always have been, and I always will be. After
going through many years of misery (some of which the Twins were contenders
only to flub it up in the home stretch, others in which they were in the
basement the entire season), I must say this years club is the strongest
I've seen since the years of Carew, Killebrew, Darwin, Oliva, Blyleven et al.
(One year in particular, I think 73)

The difference between this year and the last 10 or so? It seems that we
now have strong pitching! Though Davis and Lysander are probably just
fair relief pitchers, they have been effective enough thus fair this season
to get the fans going in Minesota.

After taking 4 straight from the Tigers, 2 out of 4 from Baltimore, and
winning 11 out of their last 13 (let's forget the 9 straight they dropped
early on) they are only 1-1/2 games out of first.

THIS IS THE YEAR OF THE TWINS!!! I will continue to brag as long as the
Twins continue to win.

Trivia Question - Who holds the record for the most number of strikeouts
in a row (offensively)? (For this question, a walk
                  or sacrifice breaks the streak.)
                  Hint:
