I wouldn't jump all over the NL. The NL is split with 6 grass and
6 artificial. The AL is 8 grass and 6 artificial. This isn't
that great of a difference between the two leagues.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I can only count 5 AL stadiums with artificial
turf, those being: Minnesota, Seattle, Texas, K.C., and Toronto. Seems as
though the AL West is the biggest offender of all. Hmm... I wonder if that
has anything to do with the quality of baseball in that division??? (-:

There are only 4 AL teams with artificial turf stadiums:
  Toronto
  Kansas City
  Minnesota
  Seattle

Hmmm, that is more than I thought, and the more I think about it, the
more I am starting to doubt it. I can only think of
Kansas City, Toronto, and the domed stadiums (ugghh!) in Minnesota
and Seattle. I may be wrong, but it seems to me that the rest are
natural turf fields. Which netter out there can provide the definitive answer?

In any case, artificial turf sucks. Billy Martin protested the conditions
in the Humphrey Dome in a game with the Twins. He said the lights were
bad and complained about the turf. The protest was disallowed, but officials
of the dome did announce some changes in the lighting, which they said were
already in the works before the protest. In the series the Orioles played
in Minnesota, the ball was bouncing over outfielders heads for extra bases.
Pretty damn ridiculous.

Artificial turf is certainly "different" to play on for teams that have
natural grass at their home ball park, but surely where ever a team plays,
the ground (or lighting) conditions are going to be the SAME for both teams.
As for the game that Billy Martin protested, the outfielders from BOTH teams
were having problems spotting the fly balls. I feel sorry for the Twins, they
have to put up with the lighting conditions on EVERY home stand.

Go Cubs.
Baseball should be played in natural sunshine on natural grass.

Now we can let the subject rest except for eliminating this
	'abomination' of the sport!
