This wizard can provide the answer: his name is Jerry Neudecker. And speaking of umpires, one of the games' greatest past away after a four-year bout with cancer, Bill Kunkel of the AL. Bill was thoroughly consistent in his arbiting, never changed around in his version of the strike zone, and he could handle peabrains such as Billy Martin and Earl Weaver (The "genius"). Some of you may even remember Bill when was a major-leaguer, pitching for the Kansas City A's. His son Jeff is a shortstop on the Texas Ranger's Oklahoma City AAA farm team and should be up in the majors by the summer. Keep calling them as you see them, Bill. David Cherson
