[net.sport.baseball] Dragging infields

The Brewers also drag the infield with people, have no mascot,
and no artificial turf. So ... are there any teams but the Mets
who DO use a golf cart to drag the infield?

While I recall that the Mets used to use a golf cart to drag the
infield, I don't think they have done so for the past few years.

I kept my eyes peeled at Sunday's game against the Dodgers, and the
infield was swept manually by a squad of groundskeepers, supporting my
lack of recollection of recent automated sweeping.

So what do you call Bernie Brewer (the guy in the keg)? To me, he bears at
least a strong resemblance to a mascot.

Still keeping an eye on the former home team after nearly 6 years out here,

That must be quite tough on the grounds-keepers. Do they get
volunteers, or do they pay people to get drug around the infield??

:-) I couldn't help it.

Why do they use people? Wouldn't rakes work better?
