 Hah.  If the Cubs can solve their middle relief problem, no one can stop them.
Not even the Mets, whose luck in runs scored/runs against will soon catch up
with them.

But what about the right of Chicago fans to see their team play in their city.
I see your point, but I'm not sure it outways the priorities of the local fans.
How about tape delay?

You got it.  The reason that the Cubs can't get lights are a state and city
ordinance against noise pollution (with a grandfather clause for Comiskey).
Chicago went nuts when the Cubs made it to the LCS last year, suppose they
make it to the WS this year.  You would see some fierce political pressure
to keep the Cubs in Chicago, and maybe a change or temporary waiver in the 
ordinances.  There is a regulation, lighted field up on the North side of town
that only seats a few thousand...


My personal feeling is that it is better to get lights for Wrigley Field and
keep the Cubs there then build a boring, dome stadium.  I don't have that much
sympathy for the people who live in the area.  They knew this was a possibility
when they moved in.
