After seeing the net's All-stars, it has occured to me that we should have an net team of "non-stars". After reading some of the rules posted below, send your votes to me, and I'll post the results after the response dies down. The votes should be, as in net-all-stars voting, 3 pitchers in each league, and one of every other position (don't forget a DH in the AL :-)). The votes should be not for players who are consistently mediocre, and evaluated as such (i.e. a minimum pay player constantly shuttling to and from the minors) but they should be for players who for some reason are evaluated way above their current stats. Examples: 1) A player who was received in exchange for a player of higher caliber in a trade with another team. The other player has produced, but the player in question has struggled. 2) A player who was signed to a large contract which he is not worth. (Is George Steinbrenner on the net? :-)) 3) A player who was voted to the all-star team by the fans despite having a mediocre season, on the basis of name alone. With your votes, if you want, enclose some examples and anecdotes. If there are no clear winners, I'll just pick out some of the more interesting examples and post them.
