Heres my $0.02 worth on day baseball in the WS. First of all it
dont look right now as if the Cubbies are gonna make it anyhow.
Sutcliffe and Matthews are both on the DL again, and I dont
think they have the bench strength to pull through.

If by some miracle they do make it, I dont really see what the
problem is. Just start the Series on a Saturday in Chicago,
take Monday off, play 3 or 4 games in the American league city,
and finish in Chicago if neccessary. This does make things somewhat
tougher for the Cubs, but they get to play all there home games at
Wrighly, in the daytime, on national TV so it should satisfy every
other objection.

Another appraoch would be to use the net to create a solidarity
union where everyone just refuses to go to work if a mid-week
game in Chicago is required. The Prez. could make it a national
holiday.

Yours for better health. bob.

Actually, I was thinking more like:

   Chicago: Sat., Sun.
   Other team: Tue., Wed., Thur.
   Chicago: Sat.
   Other team: Mon.

I realize that this is a change in format, but
last year, Bowie Kuhn was thinking of making
a schedule change to take the home field advantage
away from the Cubs. So, why should there be
a problem this year with making a schedule
change? As for the seventh game being on a
Monday night, why not? The final game of the
NCAA championship is always on a Monday night.

I've been thinking about calling the Commissioner's
office and suggesting this; but, I always come
back to the thought -- will they even take me
seriously. Probably not.
