__________________________ The Cardinals recently traded Neil Allen to the Yankees for a minor league player to be named later. As all Red Bird fans know, this is the guy the Cards got , along with Rick Ownbey (where is he now?), in the trade for superstar, classy, gold glove, fan's favorite, etc., Keith Hernandez. Using simple logic (and excluding Ownbey) : Hernandez for Allen Allen for a minor league player to be named later --> Hernandez for a minor league player to be named later Obviously one could argue that (Allen two years ago) != (Allen now), but that's not the point. The chain is still there. To any true Hernandez (from his Cardinal days) fans, this has got to be disturbing. Martin Klamen Jim White, KMOX Radio, St. Louis, on the night of the Hernandez trade: "The Cardinals are just a business/company/etc. like any other business and just happens to be located in St. Louis. They must make certain deals like any other business. And St. Louisans should not expect management to to withhold from making a trade they feel is to their advantage because of fans whims." [The above is a paraphrase]
