Please forgive my uncertainty, but haven't pitchers been credited with perfect games, when the first nine innings were perfect. I know HH from Pittsburg is always mentioned for his 12 perfect innings. If this is the case then the winning team could be either team, and any number of errors could occur. I also seem to recall that a Boston pitcher (Dutch Leonard?) is credited with a perfect game, when in fact he came on to relieve Babe Ruth, after Ruth walked the first batter. The reliever picked off the runner at first, and then retired the next 26 batters. Naturally the dropped foul ball method could also work, though the notion of a perfect game with an error in it sounds self contradictory.
