[net.sport.baseball] Yankees, Blue Jays. The Unclass Act and the End of the Season.

Well it has been a week since the Yankee-Blue Jay encounter at the
Stadium and this Yankee fan is still licking his wounds. I didn't
get to see much of the bad things that happened as mentioned on the
net(booing of Canadian Anthem and forgetting of words), but I sure
suffered through the rendition of people contributing their thoughts
about it to the net. At this point, even though I would have not
performed in such a way, I would like to apologize for the behavior of
the fans for their outrageous booing. I might have booed a few players,
but I agree that the booing of the anthem was a no class offense. It
will be hard to forget about this incident, but I hope the people from
Toronto can accept my apology for the no class bums and let this item
be put to rest.

I guess at this point of the season, we're looking at 13 games left for
the Yankees, and even though my newspaper said 13, it looks like 14 left
for Toronto. Is there a strike makeup game with, I believe, Baltimore that
is not on the schedule? The magic number is 9 and as far as I was concerned
it was pretty much over after the Blue Jay series. I'll give fair warning
to you Blue Jay fans, though, don't look back since the Yankees could get
hot, and you never know what's going to happen. I did say back in June that
I thought, even after a Yankee win against Toronto(in a Monday night contest),
the Blue Jays had what it takes to win the division. I have been saying this
since before the season began, but what happend to my other predictions I
just don't know. I will say at this point that I have not given up on the
Yankees, even though I have seen the handwriting on the wall for a long time.

As far as the rest of the season, and the teams that are involved: No one
will catch the Dodgers (too bad!).It looks like the Cardinals will edge the
Mets (I wish I cared, but the Met fans give me the most slack, so I don't
care if the Mets don't make it). I'm hoping the Angels can squeak by the
Royals but I think Brett and Co. have the home field advantage and more talent
to outlast the opposition. In my eyes this battle makes the most difference
(other than a miracle finish by the Yanks over the Jays). If the Royals win
I see them beating the Jays in a close one to face the Cards in the Series.
But if the Angels hold on: good luck Toronto against your NL opponent. If the
Mets do pull it out, I hate to say it, but I see the Dodgers winning that LCS.
I think the most interesting matchup would be the encounter of the Show Me
State (I'd root for the Royals but I think the Cards look stronger where it
counts).

Now that I've lulled you all to sleep, the Yankees are only two back, with
three to play in Toronto. Oops it was me sleeping I just woke up from a
pleasant dream. GO YANKS. Go AL. ... go champ (alas it's almost over).

I just don't like football the way I like baseball.
