Not true technically (there were other, lower ERA's) but true in
spirit (the other performances were all pre-1920).

The record scoreless streak (i.e. no runs of any kind) is 58 2/3 by Don Drysdale. Unfortunately, Mookie Wilson dropped a fly ball in the first inning of that game with Pittsburgh, allowing an unearned run to score. This is the only run Gooden has allowed in the streak (now at 48 innings, after today's victory over the Cubs).
