Perhaps the subject line oversimplifies the issue, but it would appear that we're in for a series similar to the Cards-Brewers matchup a few years back; the long-ball hitters vs. the jackrabbits. It should be interesting; as a native Missourian, I couldn't be more pleased with this series. I'm calling the Cards in 5; based on their scrappiness, defense, and relief pitching, and their refusal to quit. "Do I walk Clark and pitch to that bleep-bleep Van Slyke?" --- Tommy Lasorda, manager of the Dodgers, about 60 seconds before the Cardinals' Jack Clark blasted a 3-run homer. -- Rich Kulawiec rsk@pur-ee.uucp rsk@purdue.uucp rsk@purdue-asc.arpa
