Ever since I added my .02 to the world series debate, I've been receiving MAIL direct to me from someone in the fair city of St.Louis. Unfortunately his messages have been filled with some pretty inane statements, i.e. show me a good loser and I'll show you a loser. I wonder what is the matter with people out there that take sports so seriously that they'll resort to irrational behavior. In the end it is all just a game, a game to be enjoyed, but a just a game nonetheless. This summer in a fit of misdirected enthusiasm I conducted a "Why do I hate Pete Rose" poll. To my surprise the reactions were at least 2-1 in favor of charlie hustle. I'm humble enough to admit that I was wrong (I still don't like Rose personally) and let it be. I didn't have to resort to threats and swearing over the net as some people have recently. I think the spirit of net.baseball is good, reasoned, logical discussions about the game, not a bunch of name calling. Show me a good loser and I'll show you someone that knows how to live life. D.C.
