>6) Seems to me the Phillies got a great deal in the Virgil-Bedrosian/Thompson >trade. Did they? From the keyboard of a Braves fan. Steve Bedrosian was a hard luck pitcher in 1985. The Braves couldn't score any runs for him. If the Phillies can score runs for him, he will win. But the Phillies may put him back into the bullpen. Who knows? I could cry over losing Milt Thompson (referred to in the AP news story as a minor league outfielder--it's too bad AP isn't informed). I thought Thompson was the key to solidifying the Braves outfield. With Harper in left, Murphy in center, and Thompson in right, we would have HAD a superb outfield. Too bad. I guess since the Braves re-signed Washington, they figured they could afford to let Thompson go. Ozzie Virgil will help the Braves with good defense (God knows they haven't had a good catcher since Benedict in 1982) and he can hit some home runs, which is good in Atlanta. I think the Braves will probably trade Benedict or Cerone just to get rid of a big salary. Anyway, only 55 more days until pitchers and catchers report to camp.
