In a county match at Lords between Pakistan (who play England after the current series with India finishes) and Middlesex rain shortened play on both the first and second days. At lunch on the second day, Middlesex had made 41 for 4 (Imran Khan took all 4 wickets) in their second innings in reply to a sporting declaration by Pakistan at 31 for 1 in response to Middlesex's first innings total of 139 for 9 declared.
