If the Kemp deal was bad, the White Sox have just done worse. $4.5 million for 5 years for Floyd Bannister! The man has never had a winning record yet, his best year he was .500, and his ERA has never been above 3.40. That`s worth $900,000/year?? One sports writer noted that he`s always pitched for poor teams, Seattle and Houston (before they improved). Big deal! Steve Carlton won 27 for the Phillies about 10 years ago when Philly was the pits. What about Walter Johnson? The Senators may not have had many winning seasons while he was there, but the Big Train still picked up over 300 Ws. Yes Bannister did win the K title this past season, but that was only with just over 200. That`s not that phenominal. Just another reason for me to despise those South Siders. Tom O`Connor ixlpc!tomoc
